When buying new appliances, look out for energy efficiency information.
A good rating (e.g. A) cuts down on electricity running costs.
Some charity shops and reuse projects sell and accept donations of electrical

Both large and small electrical items (anything with a plug or a
battery, including items such as irons, kettles, electric toothbrushes etc.)
can be taken to the Community Recycling Centres.
